Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Suspect Arrested on Canada Wide Warrant, Break and Enter (No Names Released)

Break and Enter/Weapon Arrest

A 26-year-old Brampton man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 8:00pm on April 7, 2025, officers were called to Lansdowne Place.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had re-entered the mall despite being told to leave as it was closing and was then located attempting to take items from a kiosk.

When confronted the man brandished a metal tire jack handle at security and fled.

Officers located a man matching the description given to police a short distance away and took him into custody.

The tire jack handle was seized during a search after arrest.

No one was injured during the incident.

During the investigation, it was learned that the man was also wanted on a Canada Wide Immigration Warrant.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with:

Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 8, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 36-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant was taken into custody Monday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30pm on April 7, 2025, officers spotted the man in the area of Water Street and Charlotte Street and took him into custody. The man was wanted for failure to comply with Probation Order X2 and failure to comply with a Release Order.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 8, 2025.
