Peterborough County OPP – Arrest Make in Break and Enter Investigation (Name Released)

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a North Kawartha address to investigate a Break and Enter which resulted in one person being charged.

On Saturday March 15, 2025, members of the Peterborough County OPP received a call from a property owner regarding a break and enter that occurred at a residence in North Kawartha Township. The complainant advised that the residence belonged to a family member who has since passed away and is currently unoccupied. The caller stated that as the property was currently vacant, cameras had been installed for security purposes.

On the morning of March 15, 2025, the caller received notifications from their cameras that someone had entered the property when no one should have been there. The caller contacted the OPP and shared images of the individual. Through investigation, the officers were able to identify and locate the person, at which point they were arrested.

Jeffrey MCCOLL, age 40 of no fixed address was arrested and charged with;

  • Break and Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
  • Trespassing at Night

The accused is scheduled to appear April 29, 2025, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
