Cobourg Cougars Eliminated From OJHL Playoffs

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens scored three unanswered goals in the third period Sunday night to defeat the visiting Cobourg Cougars 5-2 and clinch an opening round Ontario Junior Hockey League playoff series victory in five games.

The Cougars led twice in the contest including on one goal by Cobourg’s Beckett Ewart who had three goals and four assists in five games of the best-of-seven series.

Toronto had won the first three games before the Cougars extended the series with a 4-3 overtime win Friday night at the Cobourg Community Centre.
