Peterborough Police – Incidents Include, Road Rage, Luring Arrest, Impaired (No Names Released)

Road Rage Arrest

A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 11:45pm on March 9, 2025, officers were called about a road rage incident in the area of Parkhill Road and George Street. Upon arrival to the area, officers learned that two drivers had gotten into a verbal argument while at red light when one of the drivers flashed a firearm at the other. Officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description given to police a few blocks away and conducted a gun point arrest of the driver of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle after arrest, officers located and seized a handgun in the centre console which was later determined to be a pellet gun.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Pointing a Firearm
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 22, 2025.

 

Luring Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.

At approximately 5:40pm on March 8, 2025, officers on patrol in the George Street and Simcoe Street area were flagged down by four teens. Officers learned that while inside the building a man tried to get one the teens to go into a washroom with him and that the suspect had their pants down. Officers went to the washroom and were able to take the man into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Sunday, March 9, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 22-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:50am on March 8, 2025, officers on general patrol spotted a vehicle in the Water Street and Charlotte Street area going a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the King Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment and open alcohol in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired – alcohol
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 15, 2025.

 

Theft/Warrant Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants is facing more charges after an incident Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:45pm on March 7, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit were called to a business on Lansdowne Street about a theft. Upon arrival, loss prevention officers had a man in custody. Through investigation it was learned that the man was wanted on five warrants dating back to November 2024.

As a result, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

Theft Under $5000
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on March 8, 2025.
