City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Person Held for Bail Following Traffic Stop

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged three individuals with a variety of charges following a traffic stop in Kinmount.

On Wednesday March 05, 2025 at approximately 00:05 am an officer on patrol in Kinmount conducted a traffic stop on County Road 503. The driver was found to be a prohibited driver and the two passengers were arrested for providing false information and failing to comply with release cond itions.

Jason Nichols, 50-year-old of Highlands East Township, was charged with and released with a future court date:

Operation while Prohibited x2

Driving while under Suspension

Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available

Amanda Corby, 36-year-old of Highland Grove Township, was charged with and held for bail:
Fail to comply with release order

Obstruct Peace Officer

Amleto Casella, 44-year-old of Minden Township, was charged with and released with a future court date:

Obstruct Peace Officer

In addition to the charges the motor vehicles were impounded for 45 days and the driver received a 3 day suspension for Drive Motor Vehicle with 50mg of alcohol or over.
