Peterborough Police – Incidents Include, Luring Arrest, Warrant Arrests (No Names Released)

Luring Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an investigation after an exchange of inappropriate messages was brought forward.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, officers with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit went to the suspect’s residence and took him into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Luring a Person Under 18 X2
Possession of Child Pornography
Access Any Child Pornography
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 5, 2025.

The Peterborough Police is a member of the Provincial Strategy to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

 

Warrant Arrests

Two people wanted on warrants were arrested early Wednesday morning after a call about a suspicious vehicle.

At approximately 12:50am on March 5, 2025, officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot and a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the 46-year-old female driver was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear. She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 15, 2025.

It was further determined that the passenger in the vehicle was wanted on two warrants for driving while suspended and failing to comply with appearance notice for fingerprinting.

As a result, a 44-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

Disobey a court order
The accused is currently bound by a court order with the following condition: to not communicate with the driver of the vehicle.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 5, 2025.
