Belleville Police – Incidents Include Person Charged with Impaired Driving, Assault

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 70 calls for service between 5:00 am on February 24, 2025 to 5:00 am on February 25, 2025.

Impaired Driver
At 3:40pm on the 24th of February, 2025, a concerned motorist contacted police after they had spotted a vehicle which had driven off the road and into a snowbank.

Belleville Police responded to the area and commenced an investigation.

Officers believed the driver to be impaired by alcohol.

As part of the investigation, a roadside screening device was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service for further testing.

Following the testing, 23-year-old Cameron Williams, of Picton, was charged with impaired operation and operation while over 80mgs.

He was released from custody on an Undertaking with a court date on 13 March.

Assault
On 24 February, 2025, at 6:40pm, Belleville Police received a call regarding a fight at an east end address.

Upon arrival, police learned that a fight had taken place between 10 females ranging from 10 to 18 years-old.

When police arrived, several females were suffering from the effects of bear spray, and EMS was contacted for assistance.

Police were advised that a large fight had broken out, and a female deployed bear spray after a male became involved in the disturbance and brandished a knife.

The 15-year-old Belleville male, was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, and weapons dangerous.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing on 25 February, 2025.
