City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – OFM/OPP Investigating Fatal Fire

On January 22nd, 2025, Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Fire Services, responded to a structure fire in the Dalrymple area.

Emergency personnel were called to a report of a camping trailer ablaze in the vicinity of Folsom Crescent. Upon arrival, Fire Rescue had already successfully extinguished the fire.

Tragically, one individual has been confirmed deceased as a result of the fire.

The OPP and fire officials are actively investigating the incide nt, and an increased police presence is expected in the area of Folsom Crescent as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
