Northumberland OPP Investigating Business Break and Enters

In Police Blotter

The Northumberland and Peterborough Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investing a number of break and enter incidents.

On January 2, 2025, at approximately 8:15 a.m., police received a report of an attempted break and enter at a business on Rice Lake Drive in Bewdley, Northumberland County.

Officers arrived and the preliminary enquiries reveal that three males tried to use an implement to gain access to the property at around 7:40 a.m., that morning. A dark grey passenger vehicle with no front plate was also observed at the scene and the males used face masks to conceal their identity. There was no property taken from the location and the individuals were gone prior to police arrival.

On January 6, 2025, shortly after 4:00 a.m., OPP responded to a break and enter at a commercial premises on Ottawa Street in Havelock, Peterborough County.

A similar grey passenger vehicle arrived at the loca tion and three males used an implement to force entry to the premises. A quantity of cash, beverages and cigarettes were stolen prior to the arrival of police.

The OPP are looking to identify these three persons sought in connection and are releasing images along with that of the vehicle involved.

These investigations are ongoing, and it is believed that the same individuals and vehicle are linked to both incidents. Investigators are encouraging residents and local businesses to review their camera or video footage for any suspicious activity that may assist in these investigations.
