Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Various Highway Traffic Offences (No Name Released)

A 28-year-old Cobourg man was arrested for prohibited driving after police witnessed the man perform a
stunt in a parking lot in Cobourg.

On Friday, January 3, 2025, at approximately 11:50 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop after observing a man doing a ‘wheelie’ riding an electric dirt bike through a parking lot on Elgin Street. As a result of the police investigation, the 28-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with the following:

• Drive while under Prohibition CC 320.18(1)(A)

• Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – all tires not in contact with highway HTA 172(1)

• Drive motor vehicle – no plates HTA 7(1)(B)(I)

• Drive motor vehicle, no permit HTA 7(1)(A)

• Drive while under suspension HTA 53(1)

• Owner operate motor vehicle on highway – no insurance CAIA 2(1)(A)

The male was issued a 30-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days. The male was released with a future court date.
