Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged Assault, Assaulting Peace Officer (No Name Released)

A 33-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to an assault Wednesday afternoon.

On January 1, 2025, at approximately 3:00pm, police were dispatched to a residential building on Division Street in the Town of Cobourg for a report of an assault. The victim confronted an individual for trespassing when the individual became violent. The individual assaulted the victim and fled the area on foot.

The victim attended the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police located and arrested an individual matching the provided description a short distance away. Following the arrest, the accused spat on a police officer.

As a result of the police investigation, the 33-year-old Cobourg woman has been charged with Assault,
Assaulting a Peace Officer, and four (4) counts of Failing to Comply with Probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
