Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Facing Charges Related to Possession of Child Pornography (No Name Released)

The Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch commenced an investigation upon receiving
information that a person may be in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials in the Town of Cobourg.

As a result of this investigation, on December 12, 2024, police arrested a 33-year-old Cobourg male and
charged him with Possession of Child Pornography and Accessing Child Pornography. The male will not be named to protect the identity of the victim.

The male was held for a bail hearing and the investigation is ongoing.

The Cobourg Police Service are part of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and
Exploitation on the Internet. The provincial strategy partners will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by using the resources at cybertip.ca or protectchildren.ca.
