Northumberland OPP – Ottawa Man Wanted for Aggravated Assault and Pointing a Firearm

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an attempted murder in the Township of Cramahe.

On November 13, 2024, shortly after 1:00 p.m., the Northumberland OPP were called to a residence on Mitchell Road in relation to a dropped 9-1-1 call. One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

As a result, one individual was arrested and charged.

Police are continuing the search for an additional individual in connection to this incident. Serguei PETROV, a 41-year-old from Ottawa, is wanted for aggravated assault and pointing a firearm. He is described as 185 cm (6’1″), 75 kgs (165 lbs), with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is known to frequent Northumberland County and Ottawa.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

The Nor thumberland OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Canine Unit.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Serguei PETROV is urged to not approach and contact the Northumberland OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.
