Northumberland OPP – Person Charged with Assault at Warkworth Institution (No Name Released)

One person has been charged in relation to an assault which occurred at the Warkworth Institution that resulted in an individual being transported to hospital.

On July 18, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., OPP received a report of an assault at the Warkworth Institution involving a number of individuals.

The incident, which occurred earlier in the day, resulted in one individual being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested one of the parties involved on November 7, 2024.

A 30-year-old male, from Brighton, has been charged with:

– Aggravated assault.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
