Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired Following Collision (No Name Released)

A 62-year-old Cobourg man is facing impaired charges after police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Saturday.

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Elgin Street and Division Street in Cobourg. A motor vehicle left the roadway and struck a light post.

In speaking to the driver, police determined he was displaying behaviour consistent with that of one impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 62-year-old Cobourg man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
