Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats (Name Released)

A 55-year-old Cobourg man is facing assault charges after police respond to a disturbance Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 1:52 a.m., police were dispatched to the downtown area of Cobourg for the report of a disturbance.

The victim advised that the accused threatened to taser them and then the accused produced a taser and
activated it, indicating he would use it.

As a result of the investigation, Myles MCMINN, a 55-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Uttering Threats.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date in November of 2024.
