Belleville Festival of Lights Kicks Off November 15

In Upcoming Events

This year’s Festival of Lights is set to begin Nov. 15 with a special launch night event. Join us at 5:30 p.m. at Jane Forrester Park (30 South John St.) as we officially kick off the holiday season with live music by Andy Forgie, food vendors, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a spectacular drone light show (weather permitting)! The drone light show will feature all kinds of holiday-themed displays.

The Festival of Lights runs from Nov. 15 to Jan. 6 at Jane Forrester Park. This year’s display will feature exciting new installations including a polar bear bench, and extended lights and snowflakes on the Bayshore Trail to the Shirley Langer Trail. Attendees are encouraged to take photos with the displays and show their love online.

In addition to launch night, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make appearances at the display every Friday night from Nov. 29 to Dec. 20, collecting letters and Christmas wishes before the big day. For more information on the Festival of Lights, visit: Belleville.ca/FestivalofLights.

“We are very excited to be bringing this fantastic event back to Jane Forrester Park this year,” said Chair of the Lighting Display Committee Councillor Garnet Thompson. “With the addition of three more food vendors for a total of five, and return of the drone show, we know this event will only keep growing and we can’t wait to kick off the 2024-2025 season. On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank all our generous sponsors who help make this event possible.”

A new documentary about the history of the Festival of Lights is now available to the public. Watch it online for free on the City’s YouTube channel.

There is still time to become a sponsor for the 2024-25 season! Help bring festive cheer to the community by donating through our online sponsorship form.
