Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Facing Numerous Weapons Charges (No Name Released)

A 67-year-old man has been charged with numerous firearms offences following an investigation Friday
evening.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police received a report of a man in possession of a firearm at a property in the area of Chapel Street and Division Street.

Police attended and recovered a restricted firearm along with a loaded magazine. At no point did the man brandish, point or threaten to use the weapon.

As a result of the investigation, a 67-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with

unauthorized possession of a firearm,

possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,

possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and

careless storage.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody.
