Durham Regional Police – Female Arrested in Canada Wide Warrant

 A female wanted for child abduction in Durham Region has been arrested on a Canada Wide Warrant in Manitoba.

 In December 2023, investigators from East Division began a complex investigation regarding the whereabouts of three children and their mother.  Throughout the investigation there were no safety concerns for the children and numerous efforts had been made to locate the them.  Investigators had been in contact with the mother, however were unable to locate her or the children.  The female stopped cooperating with police leading investigators to issue a Canada-wide warrant for her arrest.

 On September 25, 2024, members of the RCMP detachment in Fort Qu’Appelle Saskatchewan located the female and her three children.  The female was arrested without incident and transferred to Manitoba to be held in custody.

 On October 2, 2024, members of the DRPS Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), and Offender Management Unit (OMU), travelled to Manitoba and took custody of the female.  The female was re-arrested by DRPS investigators and transported back to Ontario.

 Astrid Marianne SCHILLER, age 54 from Clarington is charged with: Abduction by Parent x3, and Disobey Lawful Court Order.

 She was held for a bail hearing.
