Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Arrested for Theft, Failure to Comply (Name Released)

A 35-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after a theft investigation.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., police received a report of theft from a business in the area of Albert Street and Queen Street in the Town of Cobourg. Using CCTV footage, police identified a male suspect.

As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, July 30, a Brian McCarthy (35) of Cobourg man was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by Crime under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing
