Belleville Police Service – Suspect Apprehended Following Struggle

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 80 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 24, 2024 to 5:00 am on July 25, 2024.

Suspect apprehended following struggle
A would-be thief who put up a fight was arrested by police, Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to a North Front Street grocery store after a male was observed by security attempting to steal several items. When confronted, the suspect started fighting with security and eventually took off on the run.
Police caught up with the 29-year-old male suspect, who happened to also be wanted on several warrants from a neighbouring police service. He was charged with theft and breach of probation before being released to officers from Kingston Police.
