Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Arrested for Theft (No Name Released)

A 19-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a business to investigate a report of shoplifting.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the northwest end of Cobourg for a theft report. The suspect left prior to police arrival. Police identified a suspect through video surveillance footage.

On Friday, July 19, 2024, at 8:30 pm, officers located and arrested the accused.

As a result of the investigation, the 19-year-old Cobourg man was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
