Peterborough Police Service – Incidents Include Two Sudden Deaths, Four People Facing Drug Charges (No Names Released)

Sudden Deaths

The Peterborough Police Service was called to two sudden deaths near Peterborough trails this past weekend.

Around 7:10pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, officers were called to the area of Park Street and Romaine. The death of a 35-year-old male is now a Coroner’s investigation.

Around 6:30am on Sunday, July 14, 2024, officers were called to an area near the east side of the London Street bridge. The death of a 24-year-old male is now a Coroner’s Investigation.

There is no foul play suspected at this time.

 

Drug Arrests

Four people are facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:10pm on July 14, 2024, officers were called about suspicious activity involving a vehicle and four people in the Chesterfield Avenue and Downie Street area. Upon arrival to the area, officers located the vehicle and when it started to leave the area conducted a traffic stop on Parkhill Road West.  Based on information received, officers conducted a high-risk arrest at gunpoint.  Four people in the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 8.1 grams of Cocaine
  • 1.2 grams of unknown substance
  • Drug paraphernalia

As a result of the investigation,

A 30-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

A 27-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

A 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

A 33-year-old Ennismore man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

All four accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court, August 27 2024.
