Video – Port Hope Woman Gets Run Over By Her Own Vehicle

In Police Blotter

A Port Hope woman suffered serious injuries after being run over by her own vehicle on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. emergency services were dispatched to Spicer Street for reports of a vehicle that had run over a person.

Port Hope Police Acting Sgt. Ryan Hedrick said the woman was backing out of her driveway. It’s believed at some point the woman exited her vehicle believing it was in park. It appears the vehicle was in neutral, rolled down the driveway, striking and running over the woman.

The woman was rushed to Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg and with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The area was closed for approximately three hours before being re-opened.
