Electric Vehicle and Sustainability Event Coming Up

In Upcoming Events

The EV Society-Northumberland Chapter and Sustainable Cobourg are organizing a free EV & Sustainability Event to be held on Sunday June 9 from 10am to 4pm along the north side of the parking lot of Northumberland Mall, between the main driveway (Boston Pizza) and LCBO

A variety of electric vehicles (EVs) will be on display by owners and local dealers. Test drives may be booked with participating dealerships.

Sustainable Cobourg will have members and information describing the vision and activities that Sustainable Cobourg is involved with in our community (Cobourg and Neighbours). To learn more about Sustainable Cobourg, visit their website at www.sustainablecobourg.ca.

Also invited are representatives from the Federal and Provincial Governments, Northumberland County and Town of Cobourg Council.

The focus of the event is how electrification of the transportation system and other sustainable activities can help reduce our impact on climate change by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

In response to the comment “I guess EVs will be the way of the future”, we respond by saying “No, not in the future. Get in the car, press the Start button and drive. Now tell me, are you driving in the present or the future?”
