Port Hope Police – Cobourg Man Charged Impaired (No Name Released)

A 49-year-old Cobourg male was arrested and charged after he was found passed out in his vehicle in a local business parking lot.

On May 15, 2024, Police on general patrol observed a vehicle parked in a Port Hope business parking lot with a driver and passenger both slumped over. The passenger door open and the vehicle running. Police observed drug paraphernalia visible in the driver’s lap.  Once woken, the driver attempted to hide the drug paraphernalia from the officer.

As a result of an investigation, the male driver was charged with:

  • Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Adult possession of a Schedule II substance
  • Adult Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

The male was released with a future court date of June
