Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include, Break Enter and Robbery, Suspended Driver on E-Bike (Names Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 14, 2024 to 5:00 am on May 15, 2024.

Assault

On the 14th of May at 9:41am, Belleville Police responded to a residential address in the city’s east end for a report of an assault. Upon their arrival, police learned that an adult male had been punched in the face and stomach by a 24-year-old female from Belleville. The male did not require medical attention. As a result of the police investigation, 24-year-old Breagh Bauer of Belleville was charged with assault. She was released at the scene on an Appearance Notice with a court date in June.

Suspended Driver on an E-Bike

On the 14th of May at 7:30am, an officer on patrol observed an E-Bike travelling in excess of the posted speed limit on Dundas Street West. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as a 35-year-old-male from Belleville. Further investigation revealed the male was a suspended driver. As a result, he was charged with driving while suspended under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a summons for a traffic court date in July.

Break and Enter and Robbery

On the 14th of May at 6:30pm, Belleville Police received a call regarding a break and enter to a residence on Sidney St. Police attended and spoke to the home owners. Police learned that a male and female broke into the residence, assaulted one of the home owners, stole a number of items and then fled in a vehicle. The adult victim of the assault did not require medical attention. Police are continuing the investigation into the identity of the two suspects.
