Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Stunt Driving and Impaired Operation (No Name Released)

On Tuesday May 7, 2024, at 11:17 pm police were conducting speed enforcement on William Street in the Town of Cobourg and observed a motor vehicle travelling northbound at a high rate of speed. Police confirmed the vehicle was travelling at 40 km over the posted limit in a posted 50 km per hour zone.

Police initiated a traffic stop and further investigation revealed the driver was impaired by alcohol. The 31-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and Stunt driving and released on an undertaking to attend court May 22nd.

The accused’s vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
