Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Theft From Vehicle, Assault (Names Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 90 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 23, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 24, 2024.

Theft from Vehicle
Sometime between the 15th and 17th of April, a vehicle was broken into while parked at a business on Wallbridge Loyalist Rd. The owner of the vehicle reported that a professional Manfrotto DSLR tripod, black with orange trim was stolen from the vehicle. Below is a stock picture of the camera tripod. Anyone with information regarding the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen tripod is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crime Stoppers.

Theft from Vehicle
On the 23rd of April at 8:23am, a resident in the east end of Belleville contacted the Belleville Police Service to report that sometime overnight an unknown person broke into their vehicle and stole their purse. During the investigation, police were able to identify the suspect responsible for the theft. As a result, police are seeking an arrest warrant for a 26-year-old female from Belleville for theft. The investigation is continuing.

Assault
On the 23rd of April at 11:06am, Belleville Police were called to an apartment building in the city’s west end regarding an assault. During the investigation, police learned that two males engaged in a verbal argument within the building. The argument resulted in one of the males physically assaulting the other male. There were no reported injuries. As a result of the investigation, Michael Elliott, 39-years-old of Belleville was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.
