Peterborough Police Service – Incidents Include Twelve-Year-Old Female Charged with Assault and Possession of Weapon, Indecent Act Arrest (No Names Released)

Aggravated Assault Arrest

A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with the assault of an infant earlier this year after an investigation by Peterborough Police Investigative Services.

On February 19, 2024, officers were contacted about a two and ½ month old infant with serious and unexplained injuries. The infant was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then flown to Hospital for Sick Children for treatment.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, April 19, 2024, a 48-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Aggravated Assault
Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court April 19, 2024.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Assault Arrest

A 12-year-old Peterborough female is facing charges after two incidents Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:45pm on April 21, 2024, officers were called to the area of Cumberland Drive and Royal drive after a woman walking in the area reported being spat on by a youth.

A second similar incident was reported to police about 15 minutes later. This one happened near Cumberland Drive and Hilliard Street in which a woman riding an e-bike was spat on. The victim attempted to confront the individual and the individual appeared to grab a small knife from one of the other young people in the group. At that point the victim fled and called police. Officers searched the area and located a group of young people including one matching the description given to police.

As a result of the investigation, a 12-year-old Peterborough female was arrested and charged with:

Assault X2
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court May 13, 2024.

 

Indecent Acts Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:45pm on April 20, 2024, officers were called to the area of Hunter Street West and Aylmer Street about a man pacing back and forth at the intersection with his pants down, exposing himself. Upon arrival, officers located a male matching the description given to police. The man resisted arrested and after a short struggle officers were able to take him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Indecent Act- public place
Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Sunday, April 21, 2024.
