Assault

A 50-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged after punching his daughter in the head.

Police were called to a Walton Street address on March 31, 2024, for reports of a family dispute in progress.  Police arrived on scene and were met outside by the complainant, who was a friend of the daughters. It was learned that the daughter had broken a plate after becoming frustrated and as a result, her father punched her in the head twice. The daughter received medical attention at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault and will answer to his charge at a later court date.

A 23-year-old Gores Landing male was arrested and charged with Impaired driving after he was pulled over for speeding in Port Hope.

On April, 7, 2024, a Port Hope Police Officer was on patrol in the area of Petr Street in Port Hope when he witnessed a vehicle driving eastbound at a high rate of speed.
