Update – Northumberland OPP – Vehicle Found Submerged in Trent Canal in Campbellford

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 1:36 p.m., the Northumberland OPP received a report of a submerged vehicle in the Trent River, Campbellford.

The caller was a witness who noticed the submerged vehicle while on a walk.

The vehicle was approximately 20 feet from shore and appeared to be 10 to 15 feet deep. At 2:35 p.m., the vehicle was towed out of the water with the assistance from the Fire Department.

There was no one in the vehicle, and there were no witnesses that had observed the vehicle go in the river.

This incident is still under investigation.
