Belleville City Police – Armed Robbery at Financial Institution

Belleville Police are continuing an investigation into the armed robbery of a financial institution on Sidney Street earlier today (Saturday March 16, 2024).

The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. at the Alterna Credit Union branch located at 293 Sidney St. in Belleville.

No injuries were reported.

The matter is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Belleville Police Service with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit. At this time, the location has been closed as members of the FIS team process the scene.

Anyone who may have dashcam, CCTV or other video footage in the area of the robbery earlier today is requested to upload directly to police investigators.

Specifically, investigators are requesting video from home, business cameras or vehicle dash cams from a stretch of Sidney Street between Bell Boulevard to Dundas Street West from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, March 16th, 2024.
