Community invited to participate in public webinar discussing advancements in clean energy, new nuclear developments in Canada, medical isotopes and environmental cleanup projects
Chalk River, ON – March 11, 2024 –Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) is pleased to announce that it will once again be hosting a live, annual public address to provide the community with an update on the future of Canada’s national nuclear laboratories. Interested members of the public can access the webinar later this month through CNL’s website or its social media platforms, where it will be streamed. This year, the webinar will feature discussions about advancements in clean energy, new nuclear developments in Canada, environmental remediation projects in Port Hope and at other sites, and many other projects and programs.

Members of the public, Indigenous communities, elected officials and other residents and organizations are all encouraged to register for the webinar in advance at www.cnl.ca/future. The update will also provide an opportunity for the public to engage with CNL directly, and to learn more about its many exciting nuclear science and technology projects.

As in previous years, the webinar is not only being organized to help inform the public about the many projects and activities that are underway and on the horizon at the sites that it manages, but also to provide CNL with a better understanding of the public attitudes towards its program of work. With that in mind, the event will again be structured to be as interactive and engaging as possible, with a significant period of time allotted for participant questions and to encourage two-way conversations between the public and representatives from CNL.
