Northumberland OPP – Cobourg Woman Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

(MUNIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – On February 11, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Lakeshore Road in Brighton.

An officer arrived on the scene and there were no injuries reported. Following speaking with the driver, police were led into an impaired operation investigation. As a result, the accused was arrested and transported to a detachment for further testing.

Jacqueline EDEN, 41-years-old from Cobourg has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
