Cobourg Police – Ottawa Woman Charged with Assault, Forcible Confinement, Theft, Possession of Stolen Property (No Name Released)

A 44-year-old Ottawa woman faces charges after police are called to a business Friday afternoon.

On Friday, February 9 th ,2024, at 4:00 pm, police were dispatched to a business in the area of Albert Street and Third Street for a report of assault.

It was reported that a female suspect pulled the victim into a room and then assaulted them. A bystander intervened. The victim sustained minor injuries. Police investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen two cell phones.

As a result, a 44-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested and charged with assault, forcible confinement, theft under $5,000, and possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
