SIU Investigating Death of Man in Peterborough

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 46-year-old man in Peterborough last night.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 4:30 p.m. on January 31, 2024, Peterborough Police Service officers went to a residence in the area of County Road 35 and Regional Road 2 to arrest the man on a warrant in relation to a child pornography investigation.
  • The man was found in medical distress in the basement.
  • Paramedics took the man to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Two investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
