Drugs/Weapons Seized During Search Warrants

A drug trafficking investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit has resulted in the seizure of drugs, weapons, and ammunition.

The investigation began earlier this month and resulted in the Peterborough Police Service Emergency Response Team and Criminal Investigations Unit and Ontario Provincial Police executing authorized search warrants in Peterborough at a Dublin Street residence and a residence in Warkworth, Ontario today, January 31, 2024.

As a result of this investigation the following items were seized:

  • Approximately 2 kilograms (4.4lbs) of cocaine
  • Approximately .75 kilograms (1.65lbs) fentanyl
  • 5 handguns
  • 30 long guns (rifles, shotguns)
  • A large quantity of ammunition
  • A significant amount of currency

As a result, four people were arrested, including one person who was found in possession of a firearm during the execution of the search warrants.

26-year-old Devin White of Peterborough has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2 (cocaine, fentanyl)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Various firearm offences

28-year-old Andrew Polmateer of Warkworth has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2 (cocaine, fentanyl)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Weapons Dangerous
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Various other firearm offences

37-year-old Jessica Sabourin of Peterborough has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2 (cocaine, fentanyl)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Various firearm offences

48-year-old Tammy Hartwick of Peterborough has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2 (cocaine, fentanyl)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000

All of the accused are being held in custody and will appear in court today, Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Some of the firearms recovered in this investigation are confirmed stolen from a 2022 break and enter investigation in OPP jurisdiction. The investigation into these firearms is continuing.
