Police Seeking Public Assistance, Name of Deceased Released

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Members of the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance in connection with the investigation of a death in the City of Quinte West.

On January 7, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Quinte West OPP members, responded to a well being check at a motel on Dundas Street East. Officers located a deceased person in the building and Quinte West Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services were called to the scene.

The deceased has now been identified as, Kiean STODDARD, 17 years-old from Quinte West.

Investigators are requesting any doorbell camera or dashcam video from January 3, 2024, between 5:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. in the area of 276 Dundas Street East. Video can be uploaded via the following link https://bit.ly/qw_dundas_st_e

The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
