Update – Cobourg Police – Third Suspect Arrested Following August Shooting at Beach

A third suspect was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation into a shooting at West Beach in the Town of Cobourg on August 16, 2023. There are no outstanding suspects.

Update to the investigation:

On Thursday, January 11th, 2023, at approximately 2:15 pm, 21-year-old Elijah Kerridge-Lall, of Whitby, was arrested on a warrant in the GTA by a partner police service. Kerridge-Lall is charged with the following offences for his involvement in the August shooting:

1) Obstruct police, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

2) Six Counts of Fail to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) CCC

3) Point firearm contrary to section 87 CCC

4) Discharge firearm with intent, contrary to section 244(1) CCC (JOINT)

5) Attempted murder using firearm, contrary to section 239(1)(a) CCC (JOINT)

6) Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, contrary to section 92(1) CCC (JOINT)

7) Possession of loaded firearm, contrary to section 95(1) CCC (JOINT)

8) Possession of prohibited firearm, contrary to section 91(2) CCC (JOINT)

9) Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, contrary to section 94(1) CCC (JOINT)

Kerridge-Lall is currently in custody on unrelated charges from another jurisdiction and will be brought forward before the courts at a later date for the above charges.
