The Town of Cobourg and the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that nominations are being accepted for the 21st Business Achievement Awards Gala.
Over the years, the Business Achievement Awards have recognized hundreds of outstanding businesses and individuals from the Town of Cobourg and the Townships of Hamilton and Alnwick Haldimand.
“We look forward to celebrating business excellence and the remarkable achievements of our local business community at the 2024 Business Achievement Awards. Now is the time to honour these outstanding commitments to excellence by nominating businesses and individuals you feel best meet the criteria for these awards,” said Wendy Somerville, Chair of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Business Achievement Awards Committee.
To qualify, nominated businesses must be located and in operation in the Town of Cobourg, the Township of Alnwick Haldimand or the Township of Hamilton for a minimum of two years (with the exception of those in the “New Start Up” category). Businesses receiving a minimum of three independent nominations will proceed to the second stage of the judging process.
Businesses cannot nominate themselves.
Businesses can be nominated in the following categories:
• Business and Consumer Services
• Communications and Technology
• Health and Wellness
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Manufacturing & Agribusiness
• Retail Trade
• Skilled Trades
• New Start-Up (opened between January 1, 2021 and January 1, 2023)
• Non-Profit Sector
In addition to the above categories, the committee will recognize the recipients of the James Crossen Award for lifetime achievement, the Mayor’s Award and the Chamber Chair’s Award
during the ceremony.
Employees of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce and the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg are not eligible for nomination.

The Business Achievement Awards Presentation Ceremony takes place on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre. The ceremony offers an
excellent opportunity to connect with some of Cobourg’s business owners and entrepreneurs and celebrate our business community.
