Quebec Man Facing Charges After Northumberland OPP Recover Another Stolen Vehicle (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a second stolen vehicle on the same day.

On December 29, 2023, at approximately 5:50 p.m., OPP received a report of a possible stolen vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 at Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

Officers located the vehicle, brought it safely to a stop and conducted an arrest of the driver.

Benjy BLAIN, 31-years-old, from Longueuil, Quebec, was charged with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
