Northumberland OPP – Colborne Man Charged with Assault, Possession of Weapon, Uttering Threats (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest after a nearly five month assault investigation.

On July 5, 2023, Northumberland OPP received a call regarding an assault that took place at Victoria Square in the Township of Cramahe. The OPP attended where the complainant declined medical attention. The accused had left the area prior to police arriving. An individual was identified and a warrant was put out for their arrest.

On November 19, 2023 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers attended an address in Colborne where they believed the accused to be and made an arrest without incident.

Cody BALL (age 28) of Colborne has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Mischief under $5000

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
