Quinte West OPP – Quinte West Man Charged with Failure to Stop at Accident (Name Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a person in connection with a fail to remain motor vehicle collision.

On November 17, 2023, at approximately 7:40 p.m., the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), assisted by Quinte West Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the area of 2nd Dug Hill Road and Appledene Drive, Trent on, for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and fleeing the area. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Toronto for medical treatment. On November 18, 2023, as a result of an investigation an arrest was made.

Dean POTTER, 51 years old from Quinte West has been charged with Failure to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 14, 2023.
