Kawartha Lakes OPP – Highway 35 Closure Due to Collision

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed Hwy 35 for a serious collision involving two pick up trucks.

On November 04, 2023 at approximately 2:47 pm, officers responded, alongside with Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS, to a motor vehicle collision involving two pickup trucks.

One driver was taken to a Toronto hospital where their injuries were reported as severe life threatening but is now listed as stable. The other driver was treated in local hospitals for injuries.

The highway was closed from Bayview Road to Potts Shore Road for approximately 8 hours for the duration of an investigation with the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists.  Possible charges are pending the investigation.
