Cobourg Police – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Names Released)

A 60-year-old man and 36-year-old woman from Peterborough are facing drug-related charges as a result of a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2:55 a.m., police on general patrol police conducted a traffic stop on John Street in Cobourg.

Police observed drugs in plain view. The occupants were arrested. As a result of a search of the vehicle, police seized drug paraphernalia, $2,360 in Canadian currency, approximately 28 grams of Fentanyl, and cell phones.

As a result, John Foote (60) and Jessica Needham (36) were arrested and charged jointly with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device (Switch Blade) and possession of property obtained by crime.

Both were released on undertakings with a future court date.
