Peterborough County OPP – Trent Lakes Man Charged with Breaking and Entering (No Name Released)

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT LAKES, ON) – One person has been arrested following an incident in the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

On August 14, 2023, at approximately 8:45 a.m., members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for an unwanted male at a residence in Trent Lakes. Upon officer arrival, the male left the residence and attended a second location on Bessie Avenue, where he barricaded himself inside the building.

As a precaution, members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) were dispatched to the area. After a brief period, the male voluntarily exited the building and was taken into custody without incident.

During that time, the public was asked to remain away from the area due to the increased police presence.

As a result, a 37-year-old male of Trent Lakes, was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering
  • Criminal Harassment

The accused was held for bail and is sc heduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
