Peterborough County OPP – Boater Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint just prior to 12:00pm on July 20, 2023, of a vessel operator possibly being impaired. Officers attended Lock 23 located the 34-foot vessel and after making contact with the operator found them to be under the influence of alcohol.

Ian PEARSON (age 64) of Tay Valley Township ON, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 29, 2023.
