Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Facing Several Charges Including Theft of Motor Vehicle (No Name Released)

A 29-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after a vehicle was stolen from an address in the east end of Cobourg. Police are working to locate a second person who fled the area.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 10:20 p.m., members of the Cobourg Police Service were advised of a possible stolen vehicle in the east end of Cobourg. The vehicle was located a short time later in the King Street East and Norman Road area using assistance from the vehicle’s OnStar system.

A vehicle was stopped, and an occupant was arrested, attempting to flee from the vehicle. A second occupant of the vehicle fled. The area was searched with the assistance of OPP and Peterborough Police Service K-9 Unit. Police are looking to identify and locate the second occupant.

The 29-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Theft under $5,000, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
