YMCA Northumberland Celebrates 90th Birthday of Volunteer

In Community

June Cranston turned 90-years-old on July 5th, and says her secret to success is a positive attitude.
Cranston exemplifies the benefits of living a healthy active lifestyle.

Beginning her career with YMCA Northumberland’s Brighton Branch at the age of 70, June was always up to the challenge of learning new classes as fitness trends emerged and has taught many styles of fitness, including Step, Arriba, Lite and Lively and most recently the wellness classes.

The secret to June’s success is her positive attitude, love of people and of course her sense of humour.

Anyone who has attended June’s classes during the last twenty years would have enjoyed a really great workout as well as the opportunity to socialize and have fun.

Many long lasting friendships have been made over the years and continue to this day because people have had the opportunity to connect at one of June’s YMCA classes.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers YMCA Northumberland wish to extend our congratulations to June on achieving two amazing milestones, 90 years young and a 20 year career with the YMCA!

It is an honour and privilege to have June on our team as she continues to engage, encourage and motivate people now and in the future!
